This Fish is known by different names like Lote(লোটে),Loitta(লইট্যা),Bombil,Bombili,Boomla,Bummalo,Bombay Duck.
In early days,Lote fish was transported from Bombay to Calcutta by mail train so the fish got the name Bombay Mail Fish or Bombay Daak(Daak means mail in Bengal).


Afterthat It is known as Bombay Duck.It can be cooke in many style but today we will show about homemade preparion of loitta macher recipe bengali style in Sagarika Mom's Kitchen.




This easy recipe of Bombay Duck Curry in Bengali style is very delicious and It is in the form of a low spicy curry or gravy that is served with rice.

গোটা গোটা লোটে মাছের ঝাল(Lote Macher Jhal) যা কম মশলাদার রান্না এবং এটি গরম ভাতের সাথে পরিবেশন করা হয়।

Ingredients-

Lote Mach / লোটে মাছ / Bombay Duck Fish - 700 gm
Chopped Onion(কাটা পেঁয়াজ) - 2 pc
Tomato(টমেটো) - 1 pc
Green Chilli(কাঁচা লঙ্কা)- 3 pc
Chopped Coriander Leaves(ধনেপাতা কুচি)
Ginger Paste(আদা বাটা) - 3 tsp
Garlic Paste(রসুন বাটা) - 3 tsp
Turmeric Powder(হলুদ গুঁড়া) - 1 tsp
Cumin Powder(জিরা গুঁড়া) - 1 tsp
Chili Powder(লঙ্কা গুঁড়া) - 1 tsp
Salt(লবণ) - 1 tsp
Mustard Oil(সরিষা তেল) - 1 tsp
Water(জল)
